We’ll all be doing crazy stunts: Designers propose high-speed car ramps for roads
Harshpaul | Oct 7 2009

We’ve seen cars jump across ramps and always wanted to do those jumps, but well, we don’t really have the skill for it, and neither do more than 99% of other drivers on the road. Putting trivial issues like these aside, Portuguese architects Tiago Barros + Jorge Pereira and their team have proposed that high-speed car ramps be placed on roads. And why do we need these? So that pedestrians and cyclists won’t have to change their routes. Beat that.

The proposal wanted a high-speed car ramp on the Segunda Circular Highway in Lisbon, so that cyclists and pedestrians could freely cross under the highway, with cars flying over their heads. Lovely! But that’s not all there is to the ramp, it will also provide entertainment and a new tourist attraction for the city. The idea would be awesome, and even more awesome, if it wasn’t so stupid.
