The world’s first Spaceport being built in the USA
Harshpaul | Jun 23 2009

Space is the next frontier, and space tourism is probably the next big thing. Space tourists will have a terminus of their own next year when the construction of a Spaceport is completed in New Mexico. Virgin Galactic plans to use the spaceport to send people into orbit, and there are a lot of people interested in the idea. Nearly 45,000 people have already registered for a space trip from the new spaceport.

Each trip will cost the tourists $200,000, and Virgin hopes that it will have a flight every week, with at least six people on board. The spaceport has been designed by London-based architecture firm Foster + Partners. The structure will seek to display the same mystery and drama as a spaceflight is likely to have.
