Tata Nano passes European crash test, way ahead looks clear

Tata had clearly expressed its intentions of sending Nano to the European market when the automaker showed the Nano Europa at the Geneva Motor Show. A big concern was if the cheap and small car would be able to live up to the European safety standards, and apparently, a big part of the question has now been answered. The Nano has passed European front and side standard impact crash tests.
Tata Nano underwent tests at the MIRA test centre under supervision of an inspector from Britain’s Vehicle Certification Authority. The tests included a 40 per cent offset and a 35mph frontal impact. Tata is looking forward to testing by the NCAP and is looking forward to a four-star rating from the agency.
