Legendary GT40 inspires 2008 CAV GT Gulf Oil Edition
Harshpaul | Jan 3 2008

Auto Futura, the manufacturers of the CAV GT have received an exclusive license from Gulf Oil to color their car in the Gulf Oil livery that the famed Ford GT40 sported during its victories in LeMans in 1968 and 1969. The CAV GT is powered by a small block V8 from Ford that delivers 500bhp, enabling the car to run from zero to 60mph in a flashy 4.5 seconds. Transmission is six-speed manual. What is best for the car is that it gets to wear the colors on the 40th anniversary of GT40’s victory at LeMans. To show the special status, all units will get special chassis plates and their history will be tracked, owners will also be issued official certificates from Gulf Oil confirming that the two-seater is a licensed Gulf Oil car. Iconic as the color scheme may be, in case you don’t like it, you have the freedom to choose from four different versions, albeit of the same scheme.

To complete wearing the mask of the GT 40, the CAV GT will wear identical decals and graphics. Interiors are designed to be comfortable but at the same time evoke the experience of the ’60s design.
