Mazda 6 is perhaps the most hotly awaited model from Mazda. The model apparently is worth the wait. Mazda6 is designed to create a sense of delight and ‘kizuna’ everytime the owner looks at the car.
Available as a hatchback, sedan and estate, the Mazda 6 is good looking in all its avatars. Use of high-tensile and ultra-high-tensile steel has given the model an increased torsional stiffness while bringing down the body weight considerably.
Interiors are comfortable and spacious, providing a relaxed driving environment. Seats get high-grade leather, which remains optional for some models. There’s a ‘heartbeat effect’ around the center display and Action Illumination, where the selected switch lights up when activated and then fades down.
Mazda’s CF-Net takes switches to the steering wheel which provides integrated operation for navigation, audio, air conditioning, driving information, and other systems and a centralized display at top of the instrument panel.
An eight-speaker BOSE sound system and Bluetooth hands-free mobile phone interface are optional. Adaptive Front Lighting System and Parking Sensors are also present. Mazda’s first adaptive headrest also finds room in this new model.
Engine line-up has been enhanced to include a 2.5-L petrol that develops a power of 170PS. 1.8L and 2.0L petrol engines and the MZR-CD 2.0 turbo diesel from the previous model, are also available. The Mazda 6 has a six-speed manual transmission.
