Factor 001 has an on-board computer
Harshpaul | Mar 10 2009

The Factor 001 may not be all that different than other bikes in appearance, but it’s way ahead of them technologically. Created by the F1 component manufacturer BERU, the bike gets to benefit from its makers F1 experience and technology. It comes equipped with GPS, motorsport-grade sensors and a radio transmitter, all connected to an on-board computer.

It is capable of co-relating biometric data from the rider, physical force data and environmental data. All this is processed by the computer to help better the bike’s performance. Even with all the gadgetry, the bike weighs just 7kg without displaying any clutter of wires through its composite carbon-fiber frame. Set for launch next week, the bike will cost £ 20,000.
