Eco//07 folding bicycle shows flexibility like a yogi
Harshpaul | Sep 18 2009

It’s amazing how those well versed with yoga can twist and turn their bodies, and the Eco//07 bicycle probably takes a leaf from the book of the yogi. The folding bicycle shows an amazing penchant to twist and turn itself, most of the parts of the bicycle can be folded, including the wheels. Most folding bikes usually leave the wheels intact, simply putting one wheel over the other, but the ECO//07 has six modules forming each wheel, and all of them can be moved when the need to fold the bike arises.

The spokes are placed in the inner structure of the wheel, when folding/unfolding their movement to the center of the mechanism helps things get along. The frame of the bicycle is a double triangle structure created with expanding modules, each of which can collapse to a much smaller unit. A special mechanism is used to keep the bicycle and its modules stable while riding. With a number of modules in action, this will probably turn out as the most compact bicycle around, and designer Victor M. Aleman definitely deserves appreciation for the job well done!

[Thanks, Victor]
