Dean Kamen is best known for his invention of the Segway, which was supposed to change the world (but didn’t). His latest invention will probably straighten things up a bit, a scooter that runs on almost anything inflammable. Basically, it is an electric scooter, drawing power from electric batteries. But it has an added external combustion Stirling Engine for an extra twist to its story.
Much like the Chevy Volt, the engine here works to charge the batteries, so they keep running the scooter. The Stirling engine however, does things a different way, it does not run exclusively on fossil fuels, in fact there is no word such as exclusivity for this engine. Throw in anything that burns, and it will convert it into energy. You’ll practically never run out of fuel, and the heaps of waste paper will probably get easy disposal.
