Audi’s musical affair with its centenary
Harshpaul | Jul 8 2009

It’s the Audi Centenary and the automaker is celebrating its hundred years in style. After a number of centenary celebration products, and a sculpture in its honor at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the automaker’s design team has teamed up with Austrian keyboard builders Bosendorfer to create a sleek, good-looking grand piano.

The basic shape has been retained to maintain the acoustics, but the approach is fresh. Audi’s chief designer Wolfgang Egger is of the opinion that the experience will help his team design better cars, and we’re inclined to believe it. The piano will debut at the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt on July 16 to make its mark in the centenary celebrations, and the Bosendorfer Audi Design Grand Piano will go on sale shortly thereafter. Keeping in the centenary mood, the pricey piano has been priced at €100,000.
