Tom Dixon has modified a 1949 Mk VI Bentley to make it run on battery power. His idea however, goes further than just putting batteries and motors into the Bentley. Electronics for the electric Bentley are sourced from a “milk float,” the London milk delivery trucks. So in a way, he’s bringing a classic back to life, and recycling and reusing parts from the milk delivery truck.
Dixon finds working on the Bentley better because the body and the chassis can be “easily” separated. Plus, since both the vehicles in the project weigh nearly the same, using electronics from the milk truck into the Bentley becomes much easier. There is no word on range or speed of the renewed Bentley, but we’re guessing it would be about the same range as the donor milk truck.
